An artistic approach

The Brooklyn Home Company is no ordinary design studio. It's a 'family-run
 cooperative of artists and builders committed to creating world-class and
 innovative living spaces in Brooklyn'. Sounds good, doesn't it? I like the idea
 of a close-knit group of creative people working together to achieve a singular
 vision. And this approach really works - the results are stunning!

What I love about these spaces? The fresh combination of white and natural 

wood, the artistic accents, the craftsmanship, the light, the affinity of exterior 

with interior and with the Brooklyn spirit. 

The Brooklyn Home Company nėra įprasta dizaino studija. Tai "šeimos

valdomas menininkų ir statytojų kooperatyvas, pasišventęs kurti kūrybiškas 

pasaulinio lygio gyvenamąsias erdves Brukline". Skamba gerai, ar ne? 

Man patinka artimai susiejusių menininkų, siekiančių įgyventi unikalią 

viziją, idėja. Ir ji pasiteisina - rezultatai išties puikūs!

Kas man patinka šiuose namuose? Švieži baltos spalvos ir medžio deriniai, 

meniški akcentai, originalūs medžio dirbiniai (tie kavos staleliai iš vieno

 didžiulio medžio gabalo - ak!), šviesa, eksterjerų ir interjerų vientisumas, 

bendras harmonijos jausmas.

Inspiration quest

The start of the year was a bit sluggish. My zest for blogging was slackening.

There was always so much to do...  And then I stumbled upon Paul Massey's
 apartment in London. This talented photographer not only takes fantastic
pictures, but also has a great eye for interiors. (You can see his own pictures
 of this apartment as well as his other apartment in Cornwall here).

The apartment reminded me of where it all started for me with interiors:
  our first renovation project with its pared down aesthetic, quite similar to 

Massey's, and the joy of decorating with minimal means. And even though
 I may have since moved on and embraced different styles and approaches,
this pale and wonderful space really speaks to me. Thank you, Mr. Massey. 

By the way, the apartment can actually be rented!

Metų pradžia nebuvo įkvepianti. Mano tinklaraštininkės įkarštis
vėso, visada buvo milijonas darbų... Tada aš užtikau šį fotografo
Paulo Massey butą Londone. Talentingasis Massey ne tik nuostabiai
fotografuoja, bet ir turi dizainerio akį interjerams. (Jo paties darytas
buto nuotraukas ir kitą jo butą Cornwall galite pamatyti čia)

Šis butas man priminė, kaip mano susidomėjimas interjerais augo
renovuojant pirmąjį butą, ir kaip džiugino dekoravimo minimaliais
 resursais rezultatai. Tiesą sakant, buto stilistika buvo panaši į
Massey. Ačiū šiam fotografui už sugrąžintą įkvėpimą...

New beginning

New year, new adventure: introducing the Margas website! Here you will

 find what has been keeping us busy for the past year - tables, chairs, cabinets,
even posters! There being such an abundance of posters in English, we felt the
 need for some Lithuanian black&white goodness. All in all, it's nice when all
things fall into place!

Nauji metai, nauji nuotykiai: pristatome Margas svetainę! Čia pamatysite, kuo buvome
 užsiemę praeitais metais: stalais, staleliais, spintelėmis, net plakatais! Šie - lietuviški.
Angliškų grafikos plakatų galima rasti kokia tik nori tema, o štai lietuviškų - ne.
Tai yra, taip buvo iki šiol!
