Why oh why is it so difficult to get hold of vintage retro modern furniture here in
Lithuania!... I badly need a few chairs for my apartment (and a table, and a dresser)...
I've even considered going to Denmark or Sweden to look for some statement
pieces, but I'd probably have to sell a kidney for the trip. I keep on hoping that I'll
stumble upon a few dusty design classics in the second hand stores I frequent, but so
far it seems that either a) retro modern is extremely sought after and therefore oldies that
resemble a Wegner in any way are instantly redistributed (at scandalous prices),
or b) few people actually had good furniture back in the day. Or both.
Kodėl ak kodėl Lietuvoje taip sunku gauti vintažinių retro modernių baldų? Man mirtinai
reikia keleto kėdučių, na, ir stalo, ir spintelės...Net svarsčiau galimybę važiuoti tuo reikalu į
Daniją arba Švediją, bet bijau, kad kelionės išlaidoms padengti tektų parduoti inkstą.
Vis tikiuosi rasti porą apdulkėjusių dizaino klasikos pavyzdžių nenaujų baldų parduotuvėse,
bet kol kas atrodo, kad arba a) bet kas, kas nors kiek primena Wegnerio et al. kūrinius yra
akimirksniu parduodama aukcionuose už akiplėšiškas kainas, arba b) tais laikais tik nedidelė
grupė žmonių turėjo stilingus ir kokybiškus baldus. Arba abu variantai.
