Holiday fever has subsided somewhat, but there still is the New Year's
Eve to look forward to. What's your choice of marking this occasion? I had
been planning to try out the "ignore and sleep" method this year, but it looks like
it will be a merry event after all. I'd gladly see this difficult year off with a bang,
as it was a real bastard, forgive my language. Hopefully, the world will too
enter a better phase next year - wiser and more optimistic.
So my theme choice at this point is the often-ignored entryway. Seems
like white is a really popular color for entryways, and I agree that it has an
uplifting effect, especially if your entryway, like most, has few or no windows.
However, with all those white walls, it is notoriously difficult to keep the place
tidy and pretty-looking - especially during the cold season. Coats, jackets and hats
and umbrellas keep on piling up so in the end the whole thing looks like an art
installation with an anti-consumerist message. It seems that the owners of these
magazine-worthy apartments don't own stuff at all. I mean, one hanger for coats?
You've got to be kidding. We all know you have enormous closets squeezed
into some corner!
Švenčių karštinė pagaliau aprimo, nors tiesa, dar lieka Naujieji. Kaip jūs
pažymite šį įvykį? Aš šįmet planavau taikyti "ignoruok ir miegok" metodą,
bet mano laimei ar nelaimei, tai vis dėlto bus šventinis vakaras. Gal ir gerai,
šiuos sunkius metus norėčiau išlydėti su trenksmu - kad tokie nesikartotų.
Šiam simboliniam periodui pasirinkau dažnai ignoruojamą namų dalį - įėjimą, arba
koridorių. Panašu, kad balta spalva yra viena populiariausių šiai erdvei, ir man ji
atrodo labai tinkama, ypač jei įėjimas į būstą turi mažai langų arba išvis neturi.
Kita vertus, baltoje erdvėje ypač gerai matosi betvarkė, kurios čia dažniausiai
netrūksta, ypač šaltuoju metų laiku - ir iš kur prisikaupia tiek daug paltų, striukių,
skėčių ir batų... Tas daiktų kalnas ilgainiui pradeda atrodyti kaip prieš vartojimą
pasisakanti meninė instaliacija. Toks įspūdis, kad žurnalinių namų savininkai visai
nekaupia daiktų! Bet mes juk žinome, kad fotografai tiesiog ignoruoja
didžiules prigrūstas koridoriaus spintas...
